COAL SEAM GAS
Coal Seam Gas has been produced from Queensland fields since the mid 1990’s, however the production increased dramatically in the mid 2000’s. Soil Surveys were first engaged in 2005 to undertake investigations followed by construction inspections on over fifty sites throughout the Surat Basin. This work continues today.
The work undertaken involved drilling and excavation of hundreds of boreholes and test pits in remote areas and production of geotechnical reports to allow the design of infrastructure faculties required in the production of the gas. This was followed by an extensive construction phase where Soil Surveys were able to put a large number of staff on the ground to make sure the facilities were well founded.
