Acid Sulfate soils are the common name given to soils containing iron sulfides. These soils, which occur predominantly on coastal lowlands, may upon disturbance produce toxic quantities of acid and heavy metals leading to contamination of land and water ways along with degradation of structures. Soil Surveys’ capabilities in the assessment and management of acid sulfate soils have been developed as part of our commitment to Client needs and the principles of ecologically sustainable development. | ![]() ![]() |
